Manuel Moranta

Honest stories that make an impact without artifices. Manuel writes with the power of simplicity and shows that, in a world full of filters, authenticity is what resonates the most.

Manuel's stories are like a distant explosion. They seem quiet, but then the shockwave hits you.
- text: "His style is honest. If he were a restaurant, he’d be one of those places we call product-focused. Minimal preparation, just enough for the dish to do the rest. A rare bird, in times when everyone overdoes things a bit. To us, he’s an inspiration: in a world full of filters, fireworks, and more-is-more, he shows that sometimes the brightest thing is, precisely, what doesn’t shine.

The work in Manuel Moranta's own words

"

An ad could be the medium through which a poetic message is conveyed: Moving services are offered from the literal to the metaphorical.

"

There was a time when we all wrote in calligraphic letters. Now, the phone or computer translates our particular handwriting into standard alphabetic signs. I care about the gesture, the identity, the personal voice.

One day I read that ‘idea’ comes from the Latin ‘eidos,’ which means ‘I have seen.’ My ideas are always observations about everyday life. For me, creating is pointing with my index finger at whatever makes me laugh, makes me dream, or makes me think.

I make drawingphrases. A 'drawingphrase' is an aphorism in which the word gives up half the territory to the drawing. This genre allows me to explain universal ideas or feelings from insignificant things in the most concise way possible.

The 'fantastic binomial' is that creative technique by Gianni Rodari that consists of making distant ideas collide and telling a story with them. On this billboard, I bring together advertising and poetry.
