Pink Morro

Pink Morro is one of the most fascinating personalities in the creative world. He is one of the few brave designers who left what he was doing to dedicate himself 100% to painting, trying to make a living from it.

That persevering personality, that generous commitment, and that optimism are evident in their work. Pink Morro comes from graffiti and design, and you can tell because there’s a lot of authenticity but also a conceptual foundation in their way of working. They allow themselves the freedom to experiment, but there’s always a reason behind it.

Pink Morro has left us a part of their energy and contagious optimism on this Summa billboard. It was done in two parts. First, with a canvas featuring a minimalist concept, and then by painting the billboard with spray and paint, giving us a fluorescent spring-summer landscape that we’d love to stay in all year long.

The Work in Pink Morro's Words

Everything revolves around the concept of moment. There will be an initial sketch, a written word announcing it, but little by little it will be covered with layers of paint. It's a starting point, not an end.

I paint with sprays on the fence without knowing exactly how the piece will turn out or how long it will take me. I let the place guide me—its space, the height, the textures, and even the pulse of the street.

Each layer adds up, each gesture modifies what came before, and the process itself becomes the work. What you see will be the result, but the invisible, that first moment underneath, will still be there.

• Over time, in the Romance languages, it came to carry the idea of a significant instant, loaded with importance even if fleeting.

• Thus, momento keeps in its root the notion of something that moves, weighs, and transforms, even if it lasts only a second.
